"Oh you may not think I'm pretty, but don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find a smarter hat than me."This is where you post your character applications! Now, put on the Sorting Hat and see what it says... ( Accepted and sorted characters will be moved to the Accepted Characters thread, so don't be alarmed when you don't see it here anymore!) [/font]

Full name: Venus Rose Ananke Age:15 Bloodline: Pureblood Physical Appearance: a natural blondie with curly hair and blue eyes. Extremely tall, kinda thin, and fair-skinned. Personality: Venus is cheerful, but yet very haughty and picky. She likes to read and mostly enjoys being secular. She likes chocolate. She likes the rain and hates people who go tan during the summer vacation. Character Background: Both of her parents are from very wealthy wizarding families. Her mother is half French and half Irish, and her father is British. She grew up in France, but she and her family moved so that she can study at Hogwarts. She has one younger brother, Kale. Her mother owns one of the best Wizarding clothes store in France, along with her sisters. Her father is the head of Department of International Magical Cooperation. Desired House: Slytherin (note: You will be sorted according to your personality; however, your desired house will be taken into consideration in our decision. If you want to, tell us why you'd like to be in that house.) Roleplay Sample: During breakfast one winter day at Hogwarts, Venus received an owl. It was from Ralph Devereux, the kid who lived across the street of her mother's house in Marseille. They crossed paths over the previous summer and he has been stalking her ever since (in every way one can stalk another while living in two different countries). She felt sorry for him sometimes… a few times. Well, whenever he reminded her about his existence by sending something her way. Hmm… Chocolates. Quite thoughtful, she believed. She wanted to taste the chocolates. They were obviously French-made… She knew that she can swallow the guilt down with the chocolate. She also knew that she could very easily tell him that she was simply not interested; but then again, he was her mother's best friend's son. And he was the only person that she could withstand while spending the summer vacation in France. She wouldn’t want to light the match. But it had to be done. She took the box and headed to her common room. A couple of days later, she decided to go to the Owlry and put an end to Ralph's fascination. Dear Ralph, How is everything in France? I hope it's all okay. Thanks for the chocolate; it was really nice to know that you remembered my relish for it. I want to tell you about something that's rather important though. Because I admire being friends with you, Ralph, I have no intention to make our relationship go anywhere beyond that. It's nice to have you as company while in Paris, and I hope that we can still meet up when I come to France this summer. I hope you're okay. Your friend, Venus Ananke (note: Please write this in third-person and the bare minimum is a paragraph.)

This is a very good application. However, you must be a registered member to this forum before I can sort you, as I can see that you are still a guest.

Okay, I am not sure if this is the right thing to do, but it seemed reasonable to repost this through my account. So yeah, sorry if this wasn't what I'm supposed to do.

No, it's fine, thanks for re-posting. It's just a matter of your username on this board now. There are rules to this forum. (Found here) I assume you had read it because every member sending an application should have read it to know how things work. It states that specifically: If you do not know how to go to Modify Profile, you must click the button that says " [Profile]" at the top of the page right under the banner. After you've done that, there should be a link that says "Modify Profile" right under the advertisement. When you click that, under the box that asks for your email address should say "Display Name" and in that box should say your current username, which is "mannome". Change it to your character's first and last name (and middle name if you wish) and before you can save your new username, you have to type your password in each of the two boxes at the top where it asks for your password. If you have problems such as that you are getting errors when you're trying to save your profile, this is normal. This happens to me everytime I try to change my profile. Just make sure you are typing your password correctly in each box and keep trying to save and it will work eventually. If you need further explanation of things if you do not understand many things, please visit our FAQ thread. If you still don't understand something, please feel free to message me and Carter Cornerstone, or feel free to ask in the chat, which can be found on the side of this forum. Thank you!

Post by Ian Bently on Jul 26, 2011 10:25:11 GMT -8
Full Name: Ian Declan Gamp Bently
Bloodline: Gamp (on his mothers side)
Physical Appearance: Dark Brown Hair, almost black. Bright blue eyes, about 6’ with a lanky build, like a distance runner.
Personality: Ian is a class clown, he is a pleaser, not a spotlight hog. He enjoys being appreciated and will adapt to the situation he is in. Even though he loves to please the people around him he will always stand up for what he believes is right. He won’t pretend to go along with someone just st save himself some embarrassment, he is embarrassed most of the time anyway. He has learned to live with it.
Character Background: Ian’s parents met at a party thrown by the ministry. Ian’s mother, Evelyn Gamp was there on business as she works for the Daily Prophet. Ian’s father, Cole Bently was an international quidditch player for Ireland. They fell in love and though Evelyn’s family was against the idea of her marrying a muggle-born she did it anyway. That was Ian’s favorite story as a child, and part of the reason he won’t back down fro what he knows is right. He had a fairly normal childhood, enjoying his parents company and playing with the other children in the neighborhood, muggle and wizard alike. Ian does not discriminate against Muggle-borns vs. Purebloods as he figures everyone is magical and therefore the same. It does not matter how long wizarding has run in the family. Ian is a big time quidditch player. His father would take Ian with him to practice and so Ian rode with the Ireland team, sometimes even playing with them after practice. When he got older they would invite him to stand in for a player if they were sick during practice. If he could, Ian would spend all of his time on a broomstick. When Ian turned 11 he got his letter from Hogwarts and his parents were so proud of him, they bought him a cat named Jeko. Ian is currently 16 and in his 5th year at Hogwarts. His dream is to become the Minister of Magic and create unity among wizards.
Desired House: Gryffindor
Roleplay Sample: Ian waved goodbye to his parents at the train pulled away from platform 9 ¾. He sat back in his seat when he could no longer see his parents smiling faces. He was on his way. His first step to become a full-fledged wizard and realizing his dream of creating wizarding unity. He grinned to himself then turned to his friends. They were already deep into a conversation about which candy they would buy when the trolley came down the train. As candy was not his favorite thing, Ian listened to his fellow first years as he stroaked his cat, Jeko. “We are on our way.” He told the cat. “What did you say, Ian?” Cindy, The girl from down the street with stunning blue eyes and short mousy hair. “Oh, just talking to Jeko. Can you guys believe we are finally going to Hogwarts? How long have we waited for this?!” He tried to hide the excitement in his voice, but was not succeeding very well. “For, like forever!” Jake yelled and he stood on the seat and fist pumped the air. “YES!” They all laughed at him and pulled him back down onto the seat. “Jake, you didn’t take your potion this morning did you? did your mom even pack it!” Ian teased.
The rest of the train ride passed in a blur of excitement and anticipation. And it all payed off when they rounded the last bend into Hogsmead station and could see the castle rise in all her splendor.

Post by Annie Peters on Jul 26, 2011 15:51:59 GMT -8
Full name: Annie Elizabeth Peters Age: 13 Bloodline: Pure-Blood Physical Appearance: Very small, blonde hair (usually in curls), about 5’ 2” Personality: Annie is sarcastic and witty. She studies hard and believes knowledge is her secret weapon. She’s been known to outsmart her older brother, James Peters on several occasions and she finds his anger to be sad. She loves her family but doesn’t spend much time with James at school because she thinks he is embarrassed by her half-blood friends. She smiles almost always and is rarely caught off guard. Character Background: Annies family has been wizards for as far back as she knows. Her father works in the ministry with ‘The Daily Prophet’ and his Mother mostly stays at home and cares for her three younger siblings Jenna (10) and Markus (8). Annie always visits home for the holidays, even if the trip back sitting next to her brother can be a little awkward. Their family has the ‘picture perfect’ life from an outsider’s point of view. But from the inside all that her father cares about is status. Annie is expected to be perfect in every way while at home, at least perfect in his father’s standards, meaning: Collected, brave, witty and in control. Aside from her wit, she has quickly become the outcast of her Slytherin dominant family. Desired House: Ravenclaw, it would be best to support her story. Her brother James hates Ravelclaw and he has mentioned Annie in the past, however if you do not want her in Ravenclaw I am willing to make any changes to my character to get her in there. Or I can change the story according to which house you choose. Roleplay Sample:Annie entered the great hall and kept her head held high. She was terrified but she couldn’t let anyone see that. She had been raised, no trained to keep a level head. She glanced over at the Slytherin table and gave her brother, a third year at the time, a big wave. He gave her a nod and smiled, then he held up his Slytherin tie and raised an eyebrow. Annie quickly turned away. Truthfully Annie didn’t want to be in Slytherin. Her whole family had been in Slythern and as far as she could tell her whole family was a bunch of unliked people. She liked her younger siblings well enough, and James was always protective and kind to her. But he still had the same dark vibe that came from her father. Her mother had also been a Slytherin but she was much more tolerable than the rest of her family. After a few deep breaths Annie’s named was called and she walked up onto the stand. The sorting hat was placed upon her head. It felt warm and comforting. She waited for it to place her. She glanced at the Slytherin table where her brother stared her down expectantly. Then she looked at the other three, praying she would land somewhere with people like her. People who could challenge her wit and play her games. Not Slytherin. She pleaded in her mind.
